The planning for the 61 Mech museum room at the National Museum of Military History in Saxonwold, Johannesburg, is making excellent progress and if all goes according to plan, this exhibition may be opened to the general public in April 2011.

All tribute to the 61 Mech museum committee for their excellent efforts in this regard, and to the officials at the museum.

Wall with symbolic photo for the Omuthiya, Rooikop and Lohathla eras of 61 Mech

One of the items of this 61 Mech museum room is a dedicated wall that will symbolize the three eras of 61 Mech at Omuthiya, Rooikop and Lohathla by means of a descriptive photo.

This wall will form a prominent part of the 61 Mech Museum exhibition.

We need your photo

We invite all the 61 Mech veterans and other interested parties to submit photo’s to admin@61mech.org.za, that will symbolize each of the Omuthiya, Rooikop and Lohathla eras in the history of 61 Mech.

These photo’s must be scanned in JPEG format with 640 × 480 pixels and we must receive it by no later than 31 January 2011 for consideration.
