Dates for all the skouerskure in Port Elizabeth during 2010

Brian James, the facilitator of the 61 Mech Veterans skouerskure in Port Elizabeth, has managed to secure some dates for this year’s skouerskure at the Outspan shellhole of the Moths in Port Elizabeth.

Please have a look at these dates and let Brian know on 082 217 1007 or at bjames@bwt.co.za if these dates fit the busy lives of the 61 Mech veterans in PE and surrounding areas.

Here are the dates for our 61 Mech skouerskure (socials) to be held at the Outspan shellhole of the Moths for 2010. Please take note that they are every second month and NOT every third month.

The skouerskure will start at 17h30 for 18h00 on the following dates:

1. Wednesday, 21st April
2. Wednesday, 23rd June
3. Wednesday, 25th August
4. Wednesday, 20th October
5. Wednesday, 8th Decemb

What is a skouerskuur?

A skouerskuur is merely a social get together for 61 Mech veterans, where the veterans from all the years of our proud unit’s existence meet as combat teams on a regular basis to enjoy a drink and/or braai together.

In Port Elizabeth, the 61 Mech veterans will do the normal “bring and braai” thing which worked out well the last time they had their social gathering. Brian James does not mind doing the salads and bringing the braai wood to each skouerskuur.

The Outspan shellhole of the Moths also does not mind letting us use there crockery and cutlery. As always we support their bar facilities where the prices are very good.

Membership of the Moths at the Outspan shellhole

For those of you that want to become a member of the Outspan shellhole of the Moths, it costs R200-00 a year and you have to attend 3 functions a year.

We want to encourage all our 61 Mech veterans to become involved with the local shellhole of the Moths in your area, because it is a mutually beneficial relationship.

You can then use their facilities when ever you want to, when they are open.
