EPISODE 4 – Conversations with Steph Rossouw, Len Robberts, Jao Montanja Fila and Henry Tromp

We talk to Steph Rossouw and Len Robberts, who served in 1987 during Operation Modular with 61 Mech Battalion Group. They took part in the Battle of the Lomba. They introduce us to Jao Montanja Fila (Zjao Montanja Fiela), an Angolan who experienced the war in Angola as a child. He tells how they as a family had to flee from town to town, the impact of the explosions and attacks by fighter planes. He ponders about the motives of political leaders who expose the population to the horrors of war. We also meet a South African who now lives and work in Angola. Henry Tromp grew up in Hartebeestpoort and matriculated in Bethal, he describes the current situation in Angola, prospects and opportunities in agriculture and tourism. He says that it is now a peaceful country where the people of tired of conflict and strife
