Special interest groups who can join this website.

Although this website was created primarily for the veterans of 61 Mech, the 61 Mech Veterans Association has realized that the aspirations of certain special interest groups may also have to be accommodated in respect of the aims of this website. Three main groups have been identified that warrant merit for consideration as Supporters of 61 Mech.

Next of kin and family members of fallen 61 Mech veterans.

The first group that springs to mind, is the group made up of the next of kin and family members of fallen 61 Mech veterans, who may want to have an insight into that part of their beloved ones’ lives which can now longer be related to them in person.These veterans may have died while serving their country, or they may have passed away after completing their service but before they could relate their stories on this website.

The veterans from 4 SAI.

The other group to which we have already extended an invitation to join the website, is the group consisting of all the veterans from 4 SAI who, many times in conjunction with 61 Mech and during the same military operations, fought as a mechanised battle group against the enemy.

The leader group of 4 SAI in its capacity as a mechanised force, in any event first cut their combat teeth while previously serving with 61 Mech.

Other veterans from the SADF and SANDF.

The last group is made up of other veterans who have served in the SADF and SANDF, and who may have an interest in military history. Their subscription to this website as Supporters of 61 Mech will entitle them to observe the history of 61 Mech as long as their support can aid the cause of the 61 Mech Veterans Association.

Supporters of 61 Mech subscription is now possible.

The subscription part of the website to provide for enrollment as a Supporter of 61 Mech, has been completed now.

The special interest groups can now join this website as Supporters of 61 Mech at a rate of R200 per year, after completing the prescribed subscription form and disclosing the reason why such subscriber wants to be considered as a Supporter of 61 Mech.
