Description
Like the FN FAL the FN MAG is considered one of the best general purpose machine guns ever developed. Sturdy and reliable the weapon has been in use for more than 30 years. In the South African Army it replaced the old Bren gun from World War Two and served with distinction through out the Border War. The only drawback of the weapon is its weight and it has since the end of the war been replaced to a limited extent by the lighter 5.56mm SS77 despite the later weapon not being as reliable
