If you are a child or grandchild of a Battle Group Juliet or 61 Mech veteran, or have no such affiliation but have a keen interest in preserving the history of this military unit, are 25 years old and younger, you are entitled to join the 61Mech Veterans Association as a junior associate member.Membership as a 61 Mech Junior Associate is terminated when you turn 26, or when such member does not abide by the rules of the Association.

If you as want to join as a 61 Mech Junior Associate please SUBSCRIBE so that the Excom can consider your application.The junior associate membership at R100 per annum allows you to become part of the Legacy League.

The Legacy League is a club formed from the membership of the 61 Mech Junior Associates, and Associates, consisting of the next of kin of 61 Mech veterans, next generation, and others who will eventually take over and manage the 61 Mech Legacy Association.

• The purpose of the 61 MVA Legacy League is firstly to get the families of 61 Mech veterans, especially the children and grandchildren, as well as members of the public – young and old – interested and willing to participate in the activities of the 61 Mech Veterans Association.
• The second purpose is to involve them in the functioning of the association, and ultimately also in the management of the association so that they can carry on with the protection and preservation of the legacy of Battle Group Juliet and 61 Mech Battalion Group, and its soldiers.

61 Mech Junior Associates are entitled to the following privileges:

• Attend all Association parades, functions, and annual general meetings but do not have any rights to vote.
• Access to the 61 Mech member website and electronic shop
• Access to the 61 Mech Battalion Facebook group
• Receive 61 Mech Veterans Association correspondence
• Purchase 61 Mech Junior Associate merchandise and Legacy League memorabilia which are exclusive to 61 Mech Junior Associates of the Association
