The ExCom, regional or skouerskuur levels may offer 61 Mech Supporter membership of the 61 Mech Veterans Association to any person who was not a member of Battle Group Juliet or 61 Mech Battalion, regardless of the state or country such person identifies with, as long as he/she subscribes to the aims and objectives of the Association.

The regional or skouerskuur level of the Association wishing to confer such membership on any person must submit full detail, i.e. full names, date of birth, nationality, normal place of residence and employment (e.g. SWAPO member, CEO Pick-n-Pay, etc) together with a short motivation as to why such person should be offered such membership, to the next higher echelon level. Only the ExCom approves this membership category.

A “Supporter of 61 MVA membership” certificate is issued by the ExCom.

A nominal roll of 61 Mech Supporters is to be kept by the ExCom. This nominal roll is to show the member’s home country and full postal address.

Membership as a 61 Mech Supporter is terminated when such member does not abide by the rules of the Association

61 Mech Supporters are entitled to the following privileges:

• Attend all Association parades, functions, and annual general meetings but do not have any rights to vote.
• Access to the 61 Mech member website and retain their membership on returning to their home country, if they are not RSA citizens.
• Access to the 61 Mech Battalion Facebook group
• Receive 61 Mech Veterans Association correspondence
• Purchase 61 Mech merchandise and memorabilia which are exclusive to 61 Mech Supporters of the Association
• Receive information about the process to register on the National Database for Military Veterans at the Department of Military Veterans
• Receive information about the benefits available in terms of the Military Veterans Act to military veterans in need
